Under ordinary market conditions, the fund aims to meet its investment goals by dedicating a substantial majority—at least 80% of its net assets—to common equities that yield dividends. The remaining assets can be allocated among preferred shares, convertible debt, U.S. government bonds, and closed-end funds. Additionally, the fund has the discretion to commit up to one-fifth of its net assets to international securities issued by non-U.S. companies.
