The fund's primary objective is to generate the highest possible current income, while prioritizing liquidity and minimizing risk to capital. Total return is a secondary consideration. To achieve these aims, the portfolio principally invests in high-quality fixed-income instruments, such as bonds and other debt securities issued by a diverse range of entities, including domestic and foreign governments, corporations, and various trusts. The fund commits at least 80% of its net assets to these types of debt instruments, or to other investment companies that provide exposure to similar debt securities.
