Virtus Seix U.S. Government Securities Ultra Short Bond Fund Class A (SSAGX) Research

The primary objective of this fund is to generate substantial current income, while simultaneously preserving shareholders' original investment. It achieves this by committing a minimum of 80% of its total assets (including any funds acquired through borrowing) to short-duration securities issued or guaranteed by the U.S. government. The credit quality of these government-backed instruments is not a restrictive factor. These holdings may include a diverse range of U.S. government-related obligations, such as Treasury bills and bonds, debt issued by various U.S. government agencies, agency-backed mortgage-related securities, repurchase agreements, and other federal government instruments. The fund's adviser targets an average effective duration for the overall portfolio that typically falls between three months and one year. Additionally, individual securities purchased for the fund will generally be limited to those with an effective duration of less than five years.
