Alger Small Cap Focus Fund (AGOZX) Research
This fund primarily targets small-capitalization companies, committing at least 80% of its net assets—including any borrowed funds for investment purposes—to their equity shares. The selection criteria for these companies are based on their market capitalization at the time of purchase. Specifically, the fund invests in companies whose market value falls within a range defined by two benchmarks: the upper bound is the higher of either $5 billion or the largest company within the Russell 2000 Growth Index or the MSCI USA Small Cap Index, while the lower bound is the smallest company in either of those same indexes. These index-based capitalization figures are derived from the most recent 12-month period as reported by either index. Both the Russell 2000 Growth Index and the MSCI USA Small Cap Index are widely recognized broad market indicators for small-cap stocks.
