For home healthcare and personal monitoring, this segment offers blood glucose monitoring systems, disposable needles for pen-injectors, insulin patch pumps, blood pressure monitors, and digital thermometers. Additionally, it provides contract manufacturing services to pharmaceutical companies for prefilled syringes and other drug delivery devices used in drug kits. Finally, the Blood and Cell Technologies segment is dedicated to advancing blood collection, processing, and cell therapy. Its offerings include blood bags, component collection systems, automated blood processing systems, pathogen reduction systems, centrifugal apheresis systems, and cell expansion systems. Founded in 1921, the company was originally known as Sekisen Ken-onki Corporation, before officially changing its name to Terumo Corporation in October 1974.
