Invesco S&P 500 Momentum ETF (SPMO) Research

The Invesco S&P 500 Momentum ETF (SPMO) is designed to mirror the investment performance of the S&P 500 Momentum Index. The Fund typically allocates at least 90% of its total assets to the securities that constitute this underlying Index. The S&P 500 Momentum Index itself is composed of stocks from the broader S&P 500 Index that exhibit strong "momentum scores," reflecting their recent performance trends. Both the ETF and its benchmark index undergo semi-annual reconstitution and rebalancing, which takes place on the third Fridays of March and September each year. The weighting of individual constituents within the Index is determined by a combination of their market capitalization and their assigned momentum score. As of August 31, 2025, SPMO proudly holds an overall 5-star rating from Morningstar, positioning it in the top tier among 1252 comparable funds. It also earned a 5-star rating for both the 3-year period (out of 1252 funds) and the 5-year period (out of 1149 funds), with 10-year data not yet available. Morningstar's ratings are calculated using a risk-adjusted return methodology, which scrutinizes monthly performance variations, emphasizing downside risk and rewarding consistent returns. For fair comparison, open-end mutual funds and exchange-traded funds are evaluated together as a single group. To qualify for a rating, a fund must possess at least three years of operational history. The overall rating is derived from a weighted average of the 3-, 5-, and 10-year rating metrics where applicable, after accounting for fees and expenses but excluding any sales charges. Star ratings are assigned monthly based on percentile rank within a category: the top 10% receive five stars, the subsequent 22.5% receive four stars, and so forth. Please note that if fee waivers or expense reimbursements had not been in place, the Morningstar rating might have been lower. Ratings for other share classes of the fund may vary due to differing performance characteristics.
