This includes high-definition televisions, Blu-ray disc recorders, audio systems, versatile multi-function printers, commercial information displays, business projectors, point-of-sale (POS) systems, factory automation (FA) equipment, alongside associated accessories, consumables, software, and masks. The ICT (Information and Communication Technology) segment focuses on personal computing and communication devices, providing mobile phones, personal computers, tablet devices, and network routers. The Display Device segment specializes in crucial visual components, manufacturing various display modules and cameras specifically designed for in-vehicle applications. Finally, the Electronic Device segment produces a range of specialized components, including camera modules, diverse sensor modules (such as proximity and dust sensors), provides wafer foundry services, and manufactures advanced CMOS/CCD sensors and semiconductor lasers. Originally established in 1912 as Hayakawa Electric Industry Co., Ltd., the company adopted its current name, Sharp Corporation, in January 1970. Its corporate headquarters are situated in Sakai, Japan.
