These products serve a wide array of applications, from passenger cars and commercial vehicles to light and heavy-duty off-road machinery and broader industrial uses. Finally, the Materials and Trade division concentrates on developing essential system components for internal combustion engines, such as engine blocks, structural elements, and cylinder heads. It also manufactures plain bearings, bushes, and a variety of replacement parts, alongside engaging in extensive aftermarket services. Originally established in 1889, the company was initially named Rheinmetall Berlin AG before adopting its current designation, Rheinmetall AG, in 1996.
