PGIM Nasdaq-100 Buffer 12 ETF - October (PQOC) Research

The PGIM Nasdaq-100 Buffer 12 ETF (PQOC) is an actively managed fund that employs an options-based strategy to mitigate potential losses on holdings of the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ). This protective mechanism is set for a one-year duration, beginning anew each October. In exchange for cushioning against the initial 12% decline in QQQ's value, the fund limits its participation in any upside gains beyond a specified threshold, which is reset annually. It's also important to note that because the options are structured based on QQQ's price movement rather than its total return, investors will not receive any dividends distributed by QQQ. Should QQQ's value fall by more than 12%, the fund will then experience equivalent losses for any further depreciation. For investors to fully benefit from the intended protection and cap, the fund must be held for the entire one-year outcome period. Those who purchase shares on dates other than the annual reset day may find their specific protection and cap levels differ from the fund's stated targets. The fund's issuer makes current cap levels publicly available on its website. Investors should also be aware that the stated cap and buffer percentages do not account for the fund's ongoing expense ratio. PQOC exclusively uses Flexible Exchange® (FLEX) options to execute its strategy.
