The Parnassus Mid Cap Fund typically allocates a significant portion of its net assets – at least 80% – to companies classified as mid-sized. Management defines a mid-sized company as one whose market capitalization falls within the range of the smallest and largest components of the Russell Midcap® Index, assessed at the time of investment. The Russell Midcap® Index is composed of approximately 800 of the smaller companies found within the Russell 1000® Index. Furthermore, the fund has the flexibility to invest up to 20% of its total net assets in businesses with either smaller or larger market capitalizations.
