The fund's main goal is to grow the value of its investments over time. It commits at least 80% of its total net assets, including any borrowed funds used for investment purposes, to stock-based securities. The portfolio largely focuses on companies based in developed foreign countries. These shares are primarily traded on major exchanges in Japan, Europe, the Pacific region, and Australia, although they may also be available on U.S. securities markets. These holdings can include common stocks, which may or may not pay dividends, as well as securities that can be converted into common stocks, all from companies headquartered outside the U.S.
