Additional upstream holdings include the Bakken formation in North Dakota, the Uinta Basin in central Utah, the Horn River Basin in northeastern British Columbia, and Wheatland in southern Alberta. Ovintiv Inc. was formed in 2020, the same year it adopted its current name, having previously been known as Encana Corporation. Its corporate headquarters are located in Denver, Colorado.
