Kubota Corporation (KUBTF) Research

Established in Osaka, Japan, in 1890, Kubota Corporation operates as a global manufacturer and provider of machinery and integrated solutions across the critical sectors of food, water, and environment. The company's operations extend across Japan, North America, Europe, and Asia, serving a broad international clientele. Kubota's business activities are structured into three primary segments. The Farm & Industrial Machinery division offers an extensive range of agricultural equipment, including tractors, power tillers, combine harvesters, rice transplanters, turf equipment, and utility vehicles, alongside various implements and attachments. It also supplies post-harvest and vegetable production machinery, specialized cooperative drying and rice seedling facilities, rice mill plants, and precision weighing and air purification systems. This segment is a key producer of engines for agricultural, construction, and industrial machinery, as well as generators. Additionally, it manufactures compact construction equipment such as mini excavators, wheel loaders, and skid steer loaders. The Water & Environment segment is dedicated to infrastructure and sustainability solutions. It produces ductile iron and plastic piping, valves, and single stack drain fittings, complementing these products with design and construction services. This division also supplies specialized industrial components like reformer and cracking tubes, hearth and steel mill rolls, TXAX friction materials, and spiral welded steel pipes. Its environmental offerings include air-conditioning systems, comprehensive wastewater treatment equipment and plants (featuring pumps, membrane solutions, and flue gas desulfurization apparatus), membrane methane fermentation plants, and bathtubs. Furthermore, it develops and installs plants for water purification, night-soil treatment, waste incineration and melting, and waste shredding and sorting. The Other segment encompasses logistics services, along with the production of roofing and siding materials. Beyond these core manufacturing activities, Kubota engages in diverse support operations, including non-life insurance underwriting, finance leasing, factoring services, building maintenance, security guarding, transportation, storage, distribution, and cargo handling. The company also manages the export and import of repair parts for its farm equipment, engines, and construction machinery. Kubota effectively reaches its customers through an expansive network of dealers.
