Eaton Vance Emerging Markets Local Income Fund (EEIIX) Research
The fund's objective is to achieve its financial goals by strategically deploying capital into various investment vehicles, such as securities, derivatives, and other financial instruments, focusing on opportunities within emerging markets. A core component of its strategy, referred to as the "80% Policy," mandates that at least 80% of its net assets (including any funds borrowed for investment purposes) must be channeled into one or more of the following: (i) assets denominated in the local currencies of emerging market countries; (ii) fixed-income instruments issued by corporations or governments in emerging market nations; and/or (iii) derivative contracts whose value is tied to the currencies, interest rates, or underlying issues of emerging market economies. The portfolio maintains a non-diversified investment approach.
