It also engages in the sale of electricity and natural gas to wholesale and business-to-business clients, alongside optimizing and hedging its broader energy portfolio. Originally established in 1972 and headquartered in Fredericia, Denmark, the corporation underwent a significant rebranding. It was formerly recognized as DONG Energy A/S before adopting its current name, Ørsted A/S, in November 2017.
