The fund aims to generate an annual total return that, prior to accounting for fund expenses, exceeds the performance of the Bloomberg 1-3 Year U.S. Government/Credit Bond Index. It generally commits at least 80% of its net assets to U.S. dollar-denominated debt instruments. These include obligations issued by the U.S. government and other public-sector bodies, asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities from both domestic and international issuers, and corporate bonds from companies located in the U.S. and abroad. All securities must possess an investment-grade rating from at least one prominent credit rating agency when acquired, or, if unrated, be judged as investment-grade by the advisor.
