Bank of America's Global Markets segment facilitates financial transactions through market-making activities, financing services, and comprehensive securities operations including clearing, settlement, and custody. It further supplies advanced risk management tools, employing a variety of derivatives (linked to interest rates, equities, credit, currencies, and commodities), foreign exchange, fixed-income instruments, and mortgage-related products. As of December 31, 2021, the institution catered to approximately 67 million consumer and small business clients. This extensive customer base was supported by an expansive physical network, featuring around 4,200 retail financial centers and 16,000 ATMs, further augmented by robust digital banking platforms utilized by roughly 41 million active users.
