abrdn ETFs - abrdn Bloomberg Industrial Metals Strategy K-1 Free ETF (BCIM) Research

BCIM functions as a passively managed, collateral-backed investment focusing on commodities. This fund generally aims to replicate the performance of an index that comprises futures contracts for four essential industrial metals: copper, aluminum, zinc, and nickel. These metal futures are combined with collateral holdings, with the objective of improving overall returns. The underlying index incorporates futures agreements that have maturities ranging from one to three months, and these are systematically rolled over on a fixed timetable. During its annual rebalancing process, the weighting of these futures positions is adjusted based on market liquidity and production data, all while adhering to established diversification guidelines. To manage its exposure to commodities, the fund utilizes a fully-owned subsidiary situated in the Cayman Islands, a common organizational structure within the commodity ETF sector. Furthermore, the fund's cash collaterals are primarily allocated to 3-month U.S. Treasury bills, with their returns determined by the highest rate achieved in the most recent weekly auction. BCIM is the latest addition to the abrdn K-1 Free ETF trust, following the earlier launches of BCI and BCD.
